Shape the Future of the Bay Area
The Bay Area is a place of incredible innovation, transformation and progress. And for almost 75 years, the Bay Area Council has been the leading steward of this great region and its economy. Like the Bay Area we hold so dear, the Council has grown, evolved and changed. To help shape the future of this dynamic region and solve our biggest challenges—housing, traffic, homelessness, workforce, among others—the Bay Area Council must continue to adapt, adjust and transform.
That’s why we’re excited that a strategic assessment we began of our organization more than a year ago under the leadership of our Chair, Kaiser Permanente Chairman and CEO Bernard J. Tyson, is positioning the Bay Area Council to become even stronger and more effective in serving our members, serving our region and ensuring the Bay Area remains the most innovative, globally competitive and sustainable region in the world.
We’re only just beginning this work, but already we have established a strong vision, mission and set of values and principles to guide us.
- Vision: The Bay Area is the best place in the world to live and work
- Mission: We engage business and civic-minded leaders to solve the most challenging issues to ensure the Bay Area is the most innovative, sustainable, inclusive and globally competitive region in the world
- Values: Regional Stewardship, Community, Integrity, Impact, Inclusivity
This week, we unveiled a series of ads in the San Francisco Chronicle that highlights our new brand expression: Shape the Future. It not only reflects our commitment to making the Bay Area the greatest region in the world, it serves as an invitation to join us and partner with us in this important work.
Shape the Future: Homelessness
Shape the Future: Transportation
We’re also unveiling a newly designed website – www.bayareacouncil.com — that will serve as a platform for future enhancements and help us realize our vision for becoming a more digital organization And we’ll be announcing more changes in the coming months as we continue this important transformation.
