Council-Sponsored Homelessness Bill Advances
Two weeks after releasing a groundbreaking report on homelessness in the Bay Area, a Bay Area Council-sponsored bill, AB 1534 (Wicks) passed the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee on an 8-0 vote on Wednesday. The bill would standardize reporting on basic homelessness data, such as demographics, mobility, and resources, across California so that policy makers can better identify regional trends. The enhanced reporting requirements was among the recommendations in the report. To engage with the Council’s homelessness policy work, please contact Vice President Adrian Covert.
