WaPo Story Features Council Research on Homeless Problem

The regional nature of the Bay Area’s homeless crisis was brought into sharp relief in a powerful Washington Post story today that featured the Bay Area Council’s recent research on the issue. The story put into painful human terms the key findings of our report that the current hodgepodge of costly and isolated local homelessness programs are failing to make even a dent in the problem. Indeed, new data shows the homeless problem is only getting demonstrably worse. The Council is advocating for stronger regional coordination and cooperation to address a problem that the Washington Post story clearly shows does not abide municipal boundaries.
