Council CEO Honored with Prestigious JHC Legacy Award

Over 800 guests gathered at the Oakland Museum last night to celebrate the city’s biggest salute to trailblazing business and civic leaders: The Jobs and Housing Coalition’s Legacy Awards. Bay Area Council CEO Jim Wunderman joined Zack Wasserman, partner at law firme Wendel Rosen, and Art Shanks, CEO & Executive Director of Mandela Training Center, on stage as this year’s honorees of the prestigious award. Jim was recognized as a leading steward of the Bay Area, whose years of service have helped position the Bay Area Council as a leading voice for business and the economy on a wide range of issues, including housing, transportation, homelessness, workforce development, early education and more.

The Jobs and Housing Coalition is a non-profit corporation working to create better jobs, quality housing, great retail and new commerce to help Oakland realize all of its potential and make it a great place to live, work and play. McConnell has been a stalwart partner in working to address the region’s many challenges, and has helped guide Oakland’s renaissance as a destination for new jobs and business investment.
