Calbright Online College Opens Its ‘Doors’
Calbright College this week officially opened its registration for the 2020 year. With over 400 applications in the first week, there is enthusiasm surrounding this new way of learning. As a longtime supporter and advocate for the creation of Calbright College, the Bay Area Council is excited to see the fast expansion of Calbright’s student-body. Calbright seeks to provide working adults with the skills they need to move into higher paying jobs. This shift toward on-the-job training and apprenticeships reflects the work the Council’s Workforce of the Future Committee is doing to connect diverse talent to new avenues of employment.
On Thursday, the Council met with Calbright President and CEO Heather Hiles to examine ways we can partner to scale Calbright’s growth throughout the region and the state. This new source of talent has the potential of becoming a robust pool of talent for employers across the bay, as well as all of California. We look forward to the bright future of these students.
