Pay Equity and Transparency Key in the Modern Workplace
It matters what your employees think. Pay equity and transparency continue to be essential in building a more equitable workplace and it is critical employers develop a strategic plan to achieve this. Last week, employers gathered in a best practices workshop to discuss their current pay equity and transparency structures within their own companies. Council member Mercer provided an in-depth presentation highlighting the benefits of conducting pay equity and transparency studies and instituting policies to grow pay equity and job satisfaction.
Key points included the importance of communicating clearly with employees, conducting yearly pay equity reviews, and assessing pay equity as an ongoing process. The Bay Area Council’s Workforce of the Future and Gender, Diversity & Inclusion committees look forward to continuing to work with Council members to move towards more pay equity and transparency here in the region.
