One Step Closer to Redwood City Ferry Service

The future for ferry service in Redwood City is looking bright after the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) this week approved entering into a memorandum of understanding with the City and Port of Redwood City, following years of work to bring water transit. This is a route the Bay Area Council specifically advocated for as part of a three-pronged approach to address congestion on Highway 101, which also included building a carpool lane and electrifying Caltrain, two projects that are currently underway.

The Council applauds WETA’s work to move this project forward and continue the expansion of water transit in the Bay Area.
