Member Spotlight: Instacart to Add 300,000 Personal Shoppers
As the economy and workforce begin to feel the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis, Bay Area Council member Instacart is providing an opportunity for those who have been directly impacted by the crisis. In California, Instacart expects to bring on 54,000 new full-service shoppers, providing much-needed roles for the growing number of unemployed Californians. Nationally, Instacart plans to bring on 300,000 new personal shoppers over the next three months. Instacart is actively working with local and national authorities to monitor COVID-19 to take all appropriate precautionary measures to keep the entire Instacart community safe. Instacart is also reaching out organizations across the country who are helping to serve vulnerable communities and find ways to support their efforts.
