“Hire Together” Virtual Career Fair Reaches 500 Students, Job Seekers
Almost 500 students and other job seekers participated in a first-of-its-kind virtual career fair this week (Aug. 25) that the Bay Area Council proudly helped organize. Students and job seekers heard directly from representatives at major employers including Council members Amazon Web Services, Bank of the West, Dignity Health, Raley’s, Webcor and Wells Fargo. Following presentations, employers hosted their own rooms, conducting live Q&A with prospective job seekers from the region’s community colleges and higher ed institutions.
Each employer received over 100 resumes from students and job seekers prior to the career fair. As the economy slowly begins to reopen, connecting our region’s job seekers to well-paid opportunities with our major employers will be essential to make an equitable recovery. Thank you to our great partners, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Bay Area Community College Consortium and Ohlone College, in putting on this important event. If you are interested in participating in a virtual career fair, please contact Policy Manager Henry Bartholomay.
