#MeetLocalSF Can Help Speed Up Economic Recovery, Boost Jobs
What is one way businesses can help boost the local economy and get us back on the road to recovery? By meeting local! As restrictions on gatherings and meetings continue to lift, San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO Joe D’Allesandro spoke to the Bay Area Executive Committee this week (May 12) and encouraged Bay Area businesses to begin planning in-person meetings, which will help speed up the recovery. More local meetings and small (for now) conferences mean more foot traffic in our struggling downtown districts, more service sector jobs, more revenue for local businesses and more opportunities to ditch virtual meetings.
The Bay Area Council is partnering with SF Travel to encourage businesses to Meet Local. Your favorite venues in the City by the Bay are now prepared to host you for a safe and memorable meeting experience. Clear and specific guidelines mean that there’s no guesswork or ambiguity when it comes to ensuring your guests’ safety. Between San Francisco’s rising vaccination rate among its residents, the adherence to common-sense safety protocols, and the cleanliness and preparedness of its venues, San Francisco is among the safest places for any group to gather.
We hope you’ll join our efforts to reinvigorate the Bay Area by Meeting Local. Click here to access a campaign toolkit with useful messaging and imagery that can assist your outreach. By reminding businesses that their best options for meetings are right in their own backyard, we can work together to aid the economic recovery of the Bay Area.
