Bay Area Council Joins Key State Transportation Working Group on Infrastructure Investment
As a key California transportation stakeholder, the Bay Area Council has been invited by California Transportation Sec. David Kim to join the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Transportation Implementation Working Group. Through the Working Group, CalSTA will seek input on how to implement the transportation-related provisions of the recently enacted IIJA, which includes funding in the areas of climate action, zero-emission vehicle deployment, social equity, goods movement and multi-modal transportation.
The Working Group will meet every three weeks for the first half of 2022, and the Bay Area Council will advocate for effective Bay Area funding allocations and implementation strategies from IIJA through its participation. For questions about the Bay Area Council’s involvement in this Working Group, please contact Bay Area Council Senior Vice President Gwen Litvak.
