Workforce of the Future,
Achieving meaningful and comprehensive government reforms can seem impossible in a place as politically and bureaucratically complex as California. That was the case 10 years ago when the Bay Area Council joined a statewide effort led by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to fix California’s badly broken Workers’ Compensation, which supports workers sidelined by workplace and work-related injuries and disabilities. In a recent commentary in Forbes, Michael Bernick, Special Counsel at Duane Morris and an advisor to the Council’s workforce policy initiative, analyzes the success the reforms have had. It offers hope that by working together we can achieve other reforms that can benefit California.
