Promoting Economic Opportunities in China
Represented by Vice President of Global Initiatives Jennifer Zou, the Bay Area Council this week joined the launch ceremony of “Invest in China Year” in Guangdong, China, to highlight opportunities for California businesses to tap into the Chinese market. As the world’s second largest economy opens up after three years of COVID restrictions, its leaders have pushed for ways to stimulate the economy and improve the business environment for foreign companies.
The conference, moderated by Wang Weizhong, Governor of Guangdong province, convened public- and private-sector leaders including He Lifeng, Vice Premier of China; Wang Shouwen, Vice Minister of Commerce; Huang Kunming, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong; and Rebeca Cryspan, Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
Speakers detailed ways China will facilitate international business such as the lifting of all visa-restrictions, the lifting of entry barriers, and the enforcement of more clear IP laws. Overall, China presents interesting opportunities for Bay Area businesses’ growth that the Bay Area Council will continue to explore.
