Colombia Consul General Highlights Exciting Economic Opportunities in Bogota
Last Friday, the Bay Area Council’s Global Business & Investment Committee (GBI) hosted a breakfast briefing with ‘Invest in Bogota,’ a public-private initiative between the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá and the Capital District. Led by Colombia’s Consul General, Sonia Pereira, and Invest in Bogota’s Executive Director, Isabella Munoz, GBI Committee members engaged in a roundtable discussion about the city’s key investment sectors: knowledge-intensive services, value-added manufacturing, and smart infrastructure. Powered by a young and highly educated IT and STEM workforce, Bogota is quickly emerging as one of South America’s most dynamic business centers with annual economic growth of 9.9%, the highest in Latin America.
