All Aboard Transit: 49ers Fans, Hybrid Workers, and More!
Bay Area Council members the San Francisco 49ers and the Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) are teaming up to give 49ers fans an easier way to get to games at Levi’s Stadium. ACE provides commuter rail service between Stockton, the Tri-Valley, and Silicon Valley, but with reduced commute ridership following the pandemic the rail agency has smartly expanded to serve more recreational and entertainment events. This special train service will provide a comfortable, convenient, and congestion-free service to Levi’s Stadium for the rest of the 49ers’ home games this season, including this Sunday, October 29. Other rail systems are also getting creative with ways to attract more riders back to its trains in this new hybrid work world. Caltrain just announced a range of new promotional fares to make it easier for students, hybrid workers, and families to riding the system that spans the peninsula from San Francisco to San Jose. The new 3-Day Unlimited Pass is a particularly attractive option for the majority of office workers who are now only commuting a few days per week, according to the Council’s Return to Office survey. You can view a full list of Caltrain fare promotions here and other planned service adjustments here. The Council applauds these rail agencies for their innovative adjustments to draw more riders back to their systems in the wake of new travel patterns.
