Celebrating Inspiring Women of the San Francisco Bay Area
The Bay Area is teeming with trailblazing women leaders whose immense social, civic, economic, spiritual, and cultural contributions to the region have benefited millions, helped tackle our biggest challenges and made the Bay Area a global powerhouse. Those contributions were celebrated last week at The Inspiring Women of San Francisco event hosted by the San Francisco Examiner and Nob Hill Gazette. Thank you to Bay Area Council Executive Committee member Clint Reilly, Chairman and President of Clint Reilly Holdings, including the SF Examiner and Nob Hill Gazette, and his wife and University of California Regent Janet Reilly for their leadership in making this event happen.
Among the extraordinary women celebrated were U.S. Rep. Anna Eshoo, who is retiring this year after an illustrious 50 years in public service, including more than 30 years in Congress. Also honored were San Francisco Mayor London Breed (above with Mary Huss), former Bay Area Council Chair Mary Huss, Bay Area Market President Emerita for the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journals; Council Executive Committee member Liz Minick, Bank of America Managing Director and San Francisco/East Bay Market Executive; and Council Board member Hydra Mendoza, Chief of Strategic Relationships for Salesforce. See the complete list, including women leaders from a number of Council member organizations.
Several Bay Area Council staff members, including CEO Jim Wunderman, attended and added our applause to these great leaders. In addition to honoring the achievements of many great women leaders, the event also served to motivate people across the Bay Area to embrace challenges and lead with integrity. As these women’s accomplishments receive recognition, may they inspire others to strive for similar success and make a positive impact on our community.
