Helping Victims and First Responders During Horrific SoCal Fires

Posted In:

We’ve all been watching with horror, shock and sadness the catastrophic scenes of destruction in Los Angeles over the past week as ferocious wind-whipped fires have leveled entire neighborhoods and communities. Many have died or been injured. The pain, suffering and loss is unimaginable. Many of you may have friends or family who have been directly impacted by these awful blazes. Please know we are holding you and everyone affected by these fires in our thoughts and prayers.

Beyond that, there are many other ways we can help the victims of these fires as they deal with being displaced from their homes, losing all their possessions, and simply trying to survive. There are so many needs right now, from shelter and food to medical supplies and clothing. Whatever you can donate or provide will be meaningful and greatly appreciated.

Below is a list of some of the organizations that are accepting contributions and donations.

Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation

Red Cross

California Fire Foundation

United Way of Greater Los Angeles

The Salvation Army

Los Angeles Animal Services

World Central Kitchen

California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund

If you’d like to directly support families who have lost their homes, GoFundMe has set up a landing page for donations here: https://tinyurl.com/3ass6jaw.

Please do whatever you can to help our friends and neighbors in Los Angeles. While the road back from this tragedy will be long and difficult, we can do much right now to help the many thousands who are suffering and whose lives have been turned upside down.
