COUNCIL’S VISION FOR MORE COORDINATED REGIONAL PLANNING GETS BOOST
The Bay Area Council has long advocated for greater efficiency and coordination in our regional housing and transportation planning. Following several months of sometimes contentious debate, the region’s two major planning agencies – the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments – this week took an important step in realizing that vision. In a decision reached on Tuesday (Oct. 27), the two agencies agreed to consider a merger.
