Council Headlines China Technology Summit
This week (July 26), the Bay Area Council offered opening remarks at the 23rd Annual Meeting of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), co-hosted by the City of Beijing. The event centered on the concepts of “Innovation, Openness and Building a New Development Pattern Together”, and featured our very own Jim Wunderman who spoke alongside leaders of the Chinese scientific community, including CAST Committee Secretary, Mr. Lv Zhaoping. During his time, Jim took the opportunity to explain the importance of government, entrepreneurship, and the openness to risk for the progress of science and innovation. As the host organization, CAST represents China’s community of scientists, researchers, and academicians and advises the country’s policymakers to advance its science and technology priorities. This presented an opportunity to call for a return to collaborative relations and an even-playing field as the world turns the corner on the pandemic. It is by connecting our ecosystems that we will witness the world-changing solutions that come from China’s entrepreneurs working side by side with our own.
