The first month of President Trump’s second term has been anything but uneventful. The political environment is more tumultuous and dynamic than it has been in many years. And aggressive moves to enact the President’s agenda, including imposing tariffs, ending DEI programs, restricting immigration, slashing spending and reducing the government workforce, have sowed confusion and concern about what the impacts will be.

With big questions about the future of funding for transportation, housing, climate resilience and basic scientific research, among other areas, and the economic impacts of tariffs and immigration restrictions, the stakes for the Bay Area are huge. It has never been more important to have strong voices advocating for our region, our businesses and our overall interests.

To that end, we invite our member organizations to join us from May 20-22 when the Bay Area Council travels to our nation’s capital to meet with top legislative leaders and officials in President Trump’s administration to share and advocate for our priorities, get inside information about what’s coming and build and deepen the relationships needed to collaborate with our federal partners.

Delegates will stay at the Hay-Adams Hotel, where we’ll kick off the trip with an opening night reception on May 20. We will have a full day or meetings on Capitol Hill on the May 21, followed by dinner that evening. We’ll conclude on May 22 after morning and early afternoon agency meetings. We’ll be making a full agenda available as we get closer to the date.
