India has the fastest growing major economy in the world, with a dynamic startup environment and massive digitalization that is powering innovation, development and inclusiveness. Growing geo-political alignment between the United States and India is a backdrop. In this evolving relationship, India’s ties to the San Francisco/Silicon Valley Bay Area are unique.
On March 22 the Bay Area Council Economic Institute released its third major report on India’s economy and its ties to the region, at an event headlined by India’s Ambassador of India to the United States Tranajit Singh Sandhu, Consul General Of India in San Francisco Ambassador Nagendra Prasad, Chairman of India’s Council on Competitiveness Amit Kapoor, Indian venture capital leader Sudhir Sethi, and Bay Area Council members Harshul Asnani (Tech Mahindra) and Mihir Parikh (Nishith Desai Associates).
