Picture Worth 1,000 Words – and Even More ADUs

Ever since the Bay Area Council partnered with state Sen. Bob Wieckowski in 2016 to pass the first significant accessory dwelling unit (ADU) reform legislation (SB 1069), permits have soared across the state. With other housing permits remaining stagnant or falling, ADUs represent a bright spot in California’s housing crisis. The Council is now partnering with Assemblymember Phil Ting on a bill (AB 561) to make it easier for homeowners to finance ADU construction.
