High Stakes Wager Sets Stage for 49ers-Rams Showdown
Bay Area Council CEO Jim Wunderman and Los Angeles Business Federation CEO Tracy Hernandez are most often seen collaborating as co-leaders rolling out the New California Coalition (NCC), a statewide organization of California’s most influential business and regional groups. The NCC is being formed to ensure our state’s economy remains a powerhouse that delivers opportunity for all Californians, up and down, east and west.
More on that in this space in the weeks to come.
But for this weekend, collaboration takes a back seat to rivalry as the 49ers and Rams clash Sunday in to decide the NFC entry into Super Bowl LVI. And a friendly north-south wager was in order.
With the heavily anticipated 49ers victory, Jim and Kristina Wunderman will be receiving a taco feast from Casa Vega, one of LA’s oldest and highly placed, family-owned restaurants in the San Fernando Valley (wherever that is).
Should the Rams surprise the Niners (who could even imagine such a thing?), Jim will be sending Tracy and Randall Hernandez a “Famous Cioppino Dinner” from a similarly family-owned favorite, Phil’s Fish Market and Eatery in Moss Landing on the San Mateo County coast.
Said Wunderman, “While the Bay Area also is well known for its great Mexican cuisine, I expect these tacos will be especially tasty.”
Hernandez appeared unshaken. “The only thing we plan to deliver to the Bay Area is a major whooping,” she boasted.
We shall see! Go Niners!
