Council Secures Critical PPE Face Masks for Communities in Need
As reopening schools and businesses join hospitals and government agencies in efforts to procure masks and PPE, shortages are once again appearing in inventories across the country. The latest shipment of 300,000 KN95 masks to the State of California, thanks to the donation of Chinese e-commerce giant, JD.com, was welcome news this week. By working with the US Consulate in Shanghai and coordinating with the California Office of Emergency Services, the Bay Area Council’s China Initiative successfully brought the critical supplies to communities in need. Despite tensions at the national level between the two countries, the Bay Area Council and its partners in China continue to find ways for subnational collaborations and positive exchanges.
