Court Tosses Commuter Shuttles Challenge
The Bay Area Council hailed a ruling on Thursday (April 28) dismissing a lawsuit against the San Francisco commuter shuttles program that we played an instrumental role in developing over the past almost five years. The lawsuit by anti-shuttle activists and labor groups challenged the program on the grounds that it did not include sufficient environmental review. The lawsuit was effectively made moot earlier this year after the Council brokered an agreement among the companies that provide shuttle service, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority to allow the program to move forward. The Council continues to work with employers and the city to monitor and make improvements to the program.
