ECONOMIC INSTITUTE LAUNCHES BAY AREA JOBS WATCH
The Bay Area Council Economic Institute today (Jan. 22) launched its new Bay Area Jobs Watch. Using monthly state employment data, Jobs Watch will provide a snapshot of jobs trends in the Bay Area. It looks at where the jobs are being created and in what industries.
From today’s Job Watch: The Bay Area’s economy continued to expand through the end of 2015. New labor market figures released today show California added 60,400 jobs in the final month of 2015, while the Bay Area added 9,500, accounting for 15.7% of California’s growth. California’s unemployment rate now stands at 5.8%.
