ECONOMIC INSTITUTE’S TRACEY GROSE TO CHAIR STATE CONTROLLER’S NEW COUNCIL OF ECONOMIC ADVISORS
Bay Area Council Economic Institute Vice President Tracey Grose has been appointed by state Controller Betty T. Yee to chair her new Council of Economic Advisors. The nine-member panel of experts representing diverse academia, business, economics, and government backgrounds will assess and analyze the potential impacts of reform proposals across all taxpayer constituencies, including practical effects, unintended consequences and prospective alternatives. The Council of Economic Advisors will use data from the California Board of Equalization, California Franchise Tax Board and State Controller’s Office to assess a variety of tax reform proposals. The analyses and recommendations put forth by the group will set the precedence for attaining comprehensive reform of California’s tax system.
