Council Applauds Appointment of Dee Dee Myers to Lead GO-Biz
The Bay Area Council applauds Gov. Gavin Newsom’s appointment today of Dee Dee Myers, former Warner Brothers executive vice president of worldwide corporate communications and public affairs, as his senior advisor and director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). GO-Biz serves as California’s leader for job growth, economic development and business assistance efforts. Myers has been working with the Newsom administration since May on the Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery and providing support for the governor during the pandemic.
“Dee Dee is an excellent choice. We worked together years ago and I couldn’t imagine a better leader to take the helm during this critical time for California’s economy,” said Bay Area Council President and CEO Jim Wunderman. “California’s economy has always been a global economy, and we look forward to continuing our important work with GO-Biz to improve California’s business climate.”
