Abby is the Research Director at the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, where she is responsible for leading studies, developing research methods, and designing interactive data tools related to the region’s housing market, demographics, transportation systems, and post-pandemic economic recovery. Past projects include an examination of high-tech employment and wages in the United States, the economic impact of closing the racial wage gap in the Bay Area, and an index tracking post-pandemic recovery across the nation’s 25 largest economic regions.
Previously, Abby conducted research for the UMass Donahue Institute’s Economic and Public Policy Research Group. Abby grew up in Boston, and received a B.A. in Geography and Urban Studies from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. Outside of work, Abby enjoys cooking, chess, old movies, and discovering new secret staircases throughout the city.
