25th Anniversary Bay Area Business Hall of Fame
It’s virtually the best event you will attend this year. The Bay Area Council is gearing up for our 25th Anniversary Bay Area Business Hall of Fame presented by Kaiser Permanente on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 12noon. We’re excited to be inducting three great leaders.
Dr. Susan Desmond-Hellmann is a physician scientist who has spent the past four decades as an innovator and leader in life sciences. She was a top executive at Genentech, where she led groundbreaking cancer research, before serving as Chancellor of UC San Francisco and later serving as CEO of The Gates Foundation. The Trefethen Family is a Napa Valley winemaking pioneer started by Eugene Trefethen, a former Bay Area Council Chair who was instrumental in growing Kaiser Industries into a global industrial titan and later helped create the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, among many other civic achievements and philanthropic contributions. Kaiser Permanente CEO Bernard J. Tyson was one of the most powerful, respected and influential healthcare leaders in the world when he tragically passed away last year. The former Bay Area Council Chair was also a leading champion for racial equity and justice.
On top of that incredible program, you’ll also be treated to conversations with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Coming after what is expected to be a wild Presidential election, we’ll hear from these two great leaders on what we can look forward to politically and economically in the coming months.
