FASTER Legislation Advances in Sacramento
One of the Bay Area Council’s major 2020 priorities passed a legislative milestone this week. The Senate Transportation Committee this week approved Senate Bill 278 (Beall), which would authorize a regional ballot measure—FASTER—to invest $100 billion to ease traffic congestion and improve public transit. The bill must pass out of the Senate before January 31 before it heads to the Assembly for consideration. Sen. Beall is working with other legislators in continuing to revise and refine the bill following an exhaustive community outreach process across the Bay Area and with the region’s top transportation leaders.
