What’s the Future of Work in the Age of AI?

As our workforce continues to change and expand in the age of technology, artificial intelligence (AI) will play a critical role in the “future of work”. Bay Area Council members Salesforce and Accenture provided compelling insights on how AI will provide an avenue to grow productivity in the workforce in a recent article titled “What’s the Future of Work in the Age of AI?” Among the key findings: the “impact of AI technologies on business is projected to increase labor productivity by up to 40%” and “59% of hiring managers say the rise of AI will have a substantial or transformational impact on the types of skills their companies need.”

The Bay Area Council’s Workforce of the Future Committee is focused on understanding what these changes mean and how employers, educators and policy makers will need to adapt. To prepare for this transition, it is important for companies to upskill their current workforce and help them learn how to maximize the value of AI assistance. The Workforce of the Future Committee works in partnership with our member companies to grow the skillsets of our current workforce and prepare for changes in the future of work.
